Have you ever dreaded the idea of pulling weeds, planting a tree, or pushing a lawn mower around the yard? Does just thinking about it make you sweat? I am sure the majority of are nodding your heads in agreement.
Bend down slightly while maintaining a good load-bearing posture (head up, hips squarely underneath you) and with your other arm grab their leg (e.g., your right arm hugs their right leg, assuming the above example). Pull them completely onto your shoulders and stand up completely. Here's the tricky part: now swing your partner's legs from the side that they are on at first now to the other side. To do so, stand tall and giving a slight pop with your hips as you pull with your clasped arms."Go N'eirigh an bother leat" and have a wonderful time in the Capital of the Emerald Isle. All in all you will have a wonderful and energetic time in Dublin. Be prepared to walk as it is very easy to get around on foot. And you will need to walk off those Irish breakfasts, with bacon, sausage, black and white pudding, eggs, soda bread and pots of delicious Irish tea. Hmmm!!!.....Dublin founded in the 9th Century by the Vikings is split in two by the River Liffey and hosts great rivalry between the inhabitants on both sides of the river. The two main bridges are O'Connell Bridge and the Ha'penny Bridge, so called because of the toll which used to be charged to cross it. O'Connell Bridge takes you to O'Connell Street home of the historic General Post Office, the first building to fly the Irish flag during the Easter Rebellion of 1916. The National Gallery of Ireland is one of the finest in Europe with one whole exhibit devoted to the works of J.B. Yeats brother of the poet W.B. Yeats. Take a stroll round St. Stephens Green before heading to Grafton Street one of Dublin's most stylish shopping streets. Grafton Street is home to street artists and musicians and has a wonderful atmosphere.- Put some "oomph" into it. Once you are confident that you have proper form and you can protect your partner, lift ballistically. This means, lift as explosively and powerfully as you safely can.3) Squad Push-UpWhat I am about to suggest only takes a slight change in your thinking and a bit of planning and you can learn how to lose weight and get in better shape while gardening this year. For those of you that are already gardeners, you know that gardening is one of the best ways to get exercise because it involves all of the muscle groups in your body.1) Dead-man LiftThis lift can be performed with the lifter walking both forwards or backwards (just be careful you have a clear path to avoid stumbling).Lower your partner all the way to the ground so that they are flat again and then repeat the lift.Once you are comfortable, hook your legs into their legs so when you lean back to do the sit-up you are stabilized. Cross your arms across your chest and lean back as far as you can. As you do, your partner should begin to feel the load increase upon their neck and shoulders. This way, while you are working your abdominal muscle, so your partner is working hard too.
Once you get into the habit of viewing gardening as an excellent way to lose weight and stay in shape, you may never go back to the gym again!
